DARPA/CTC
Through the wall radar images are difficult to interpret. We have developed a statistical classifier that classifies effective feature vectors drawn from 3D volume image data and produces a labeled volume.

Naval Undersea Warfare Center
Sonar is the premier tool in undersea ranging, ASW and many others. The goal of this project is to enhance identification of sonar pulses by embedding them with imperceptible digital watermarks.

Target Tracking
We have an ongoing effort to develop a track history algorithm for UAV target tracking applications. The idea is to build a module that rides on top of a tracker to establish correspondence among targets that have appeared in earlier frames. We watermark tracked targets with unique signatures and then look for them across video.

AFRL Project
The problem is digital watermarking of compressed image or video. Our proposed method makes possible for the first time to watermark directly in JPEG or MPEG bitstream with no increase in file size and full syntax preservation.

ONR Project
Spread spectrum watermarking is a proven technique. The algorithm uses PN sequences to spread the watermark. PN sequences cannot be tuned to the image, however. We have improved on this approach by using a tunable spreading function in the form of a 2D chirp signal. We have shown that a chirp-watermarked image outperforms traditional PN sequences across all compression factors in JPEG.

Predator UAV video
We have applied our data hiding algorithm to UAV video. The algorithm takes the metadata stream, that is now a separate entity, and securely embeds it within the video itself. In this approach metadata always stays with the video, saving overhead and bookkeeping.

Integrated Biometric Access System
This is a practical end-to-end implementation of eigenface face recognition algorithm. The emphasis is on a total solution in realistic environment that starts with capturing an image and ends with unlocking a door. The system has been successfully tested in a hallway with no special modifications.
